We’re big fans of Ruby Tandoh’s accessible cookbooks, so there was much excitement when Ruby’s latest, Cook As You Are, was announced. With the full title of Cook As You Are: Recipes for Real Life, Hungry Cooks and Messy Kitchens, it’s a recipe book that gets that real life cooking can get messy, be a bit unglamorous, but still be totally delicious..
Ruby has produced an Easy Read version of her new book, featuring ten of the recipes from the full version of the book. With lots of photos for every step and simple instructions, it makes it a lot easier to get into the kitchen to make delicious Chicken and Mushroom Pie or Dark Chocolate Chunk Cookies.
We tried out the mouth-watering Clementine Hot Chocolate, scratching the clementine peel with our fingernails to release the tangy smell was fun! And then, of course, there was the smell of the hot chocolate!
Ruby has kindly given KCIL two copies of the Easy Read version of Cook As You Are, so that more people can get in the kitchen to cook up an accessible feast. To be in the chance of winning a copy, please email [email protected], telling us your favourite thing to make in the kitchen (we’re always looking for new ideas!). We’ll be picking names out of a hat on 22 October.
