PA/Support Worker, ref: CRO-MBL
- Crystal Palace
- Hourly rate: TBC
- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- To arrange with the family
We are looking for a reliable, patient, and compassionate PA to support CRO-MBL in her own home in the Crystal Palace area. CRO-MBL lives with dementia, and this role would suit someone who is calm, understanding, and confident as CRO-MBL does not read, write, sign, or hear, therefore. It is essential that the PA is comfortable using idiosyncratic communication, supportive body language, facial expression, gesture, and consistent routine-based cues to promote reassurance and understanding.
The role is for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, with the main focus being meal-related support. This includes preparing meals and bulk cooking Caribbean food to support CRO-MBL’s daily routine and wellbeing. The PA will also provide gentle reminders about medication and show CRO-MBL where her medication is kept. No personal care is required as part of this role.
As CRO-MBL is unable to read or write, it is essential that the PA feels comfortable communicating clearly through spoken words, repetition where needed, and positive body language. The successful applicant will be respectful, dependable, and supportive, with either experience of dementia care or a genuine interest in supporting someone living with dementia to remain independent in their own home.
There is no requirement to drive or have access to a car, making this role ideal for someone local to the Crystal Palace area.
