KCIL is looking for a reliable and experienced female carer to support KEM1, a teenage girl who is blind, autistic and has multi-sensory impairments. KEM1 is a bright and creative young person who enjoys baking, listening to music, exploring arts and crafts, gentle outings, and playing her football popper game. She needs someone who can provide stability, build her trust and keep her positively engaged in the activities she enjoys.
KEM1 sometimes prefers to stay at home, especially after a busy day at college, choosing baking or craft projects over new activities. With patience, encouragement and a cheerful approach she usually finds a compromise, and with the right support she can thrive both at home and in the community.
We are looking for someone proactive, caring and patient, with experience of supporting young people with disabilities. This may be through work in a SEND school, a youth club, or through personal or family experience. The ideal person will bring warmth, consistency and enthusiasm, helping KEM1 to feel secure while enjoying the things she loves most.
